football is my love, and my favorite football teams:Georgia Bulldogs

Georgia Bulldogs - As an alum of the University of Georgia, being a fan of the football team is one of the first things that comes up anytime you tell someone you went to school there.nfl football There is nothing like being on campus during a football season at a school in the SEC - the passion is at a different level. When I look back on it, my time at UGA was one of the most successful periods in Georgia football since Herschel Walker was there. You're welcome Coach Richt. I was there when the team won the SEC Championship in 2005 and I also saw them win the Sugar Bowl in 2008 - the year UGA was probably the best team in the country. I was in attendance for the infamous "Blackout" game against Auburn, which still might be the craziest night of my life. And while there has been a great deal of criticism for Mark Richt over the past couple years, I still love the fact that he is the most recognizable figure from my university. The man is incredibly humble and genuine and treats people with compassion and respect.

An important attraction of sport is also its competitive and challenging nature

An important attraction of sport is also its competitive and challenging nature. Men have always wanted to prove who is the strongest, the quickest, and the highest. The roots of men's desire to display their physical health and beauty go back to ancient times when the idea of the Olympic Games first appeared.

The original games began in ancient Greece in 776 ВС. These games were the part of the festival held every four years in honour of the god Zeus, at a place called Olympia. The festival included contests that tested the skills of soldiers. It included such kinds of as: boxing, running, wrestling, etc. The winner was given a branch of wild olive and that was the greatest honour. After nearly 300 Olympiads they were stopped by the Roman emperor Theodosius. who felt that they had pagan meaning.

The modern Olympics, revived in 1896, owe a lot to one man, Baron Pierre de Coubertain who was convinced that sport is an essential part in an individual's development. I agree with him completely and I think that international matches and tournaments unite nations; they play an important role in establishing good relations between countries. As the President of the International Olympic Committee. Juan Antonio Samaranch says: "The Olympic idea means friendship, fraternity and co-operation among the youth of the world. The Olympic movement proves that real peace can be achieved through sport".

My favorite sports teams, I always will not give up your

Band wagon fans. They drive me crazy. I think if you have a team you like, you support them when they are up AND when they are down. If your favorite team wins the Super Bowl every year..for 20 straight year..then I hate to tell you that you have never learned what it means to be a fan. What it means to be loyal.

Your father and I are Chiefs fans. We know what it means to “love them through the bad years” and some day when they have a great year we will be right along celebrating with them. It doesn’t matter if our team loses five games in a row, we support them because we like them, because we are fans, because we are loyal. Sure, people might eyeball your dad’s bright Chiefs jacket and shake their head –but he doesn’t care. He has a favorite beloved team and he won’t give up on them.

When you pick a sports team stick with them. Honestly, if you can’t stick with something as simple as that–can you really stick with anything at all? What about that friend who has suddenly become the victim of teasing? How about that family member who just can’t seem to figure out where they are heading in life? What about your religious beliefs? I think being loyal to a favorite team should be simple in the light of those other forms of loyalty.

My Favorite NBA Analysts——Bill Simmons

When I think of Bill Simmons, I think of two things, the city of Boston and NBA Basketball.  His “Book of Basketball” is not only required reading for anyone who wants to write about basketball at 25TwoFour, but is also enormous in its detail and scope.  It is a testament to his knowledge – past and present – and his ability to make sound arguments in historical context without succumbing to present-event bias. His ESPN articles masterfully blend the pop cultural and the detailed statistics; he has a powerful insight into players’ hearts and natures that make his analysis not only interesting but also piercing.

But you have to watch out. – he’s got some major idiosyncratic biases.  I’ve got a buddy that lives in Boston who says Simmons’ “metaphysical” arguments about heart, clutch, intangibles are a load of crap.  Whether it’s crap or not is for you to decide. Nevertheless, it adds up to a bunch of biases that extend beyond his obvious Boston bias because which is easy to detect.  Consider a statement made in his book about Vince Carter: he openly admits that he shafts Carter for the length of his book.  Simmons has certain players (McGrady, Carter, sometimes Rasheed Wallace) that he particularly targets, so I find that it’s important to temper what I read from Simmons.
